FAMILY FIRST: Water at the beach? Fun. Water in tubs? Not so much.
Isn't it funny how some kids absolutely, posi-tively hate bath time? I've been waiting for more than a decade for my three children to outgrow this weird aversion, but so far, no luck. It's uncanny how kids who love water (swimming, playing in the hose, and getting wet all day long), are the same kids who balk, avoid and bemoan taking a bath at the end of the day.

Brushy Creek MUD disc golf course gains popularity
The Liberty Walk greenbelt is the home to an 18-hole disc golf course, and this state-of-the-art course sees a lot of activity during warm summer days. The course is near the hike and bike trail that extends from Cat Hollow Park to O'Connor Drive.

Boy Scout Troop 8787, chartered to VFW 8787, Austin, recently announced Daeleand Alexander Angle officially received the rank of Eagle Scout on Jan. 21, and Hornaday Badge on Oct. 17, 2009.

Military Moms look to support soldiers and their families
Military Moms of Texas was organized in 2008 by Tracy LaPorte upon her son's first deployment overseas with the U.S. Army. Texas ranks first in total military recruits and second in the number of Iraq casualties, and LaPorte believes the mission of MMOT plays a critical role in promoting support and appreciation for soldiers abroad.
