Wait till next year
Round Rock Express fans will have to wait until next season to see if the team can recapture its winning ways from years past. On Monday the Express closed out the 2010 campaign with a 4-0 loss to Albuquerque. Round Rock ended the season with a 57-87 record.

Rain, floods prompt home evacuations
Round Rock Police and Fire departments on Wednesday evacuated approximately 16 homes along the Brushy Creek floodplain, an area extending eastward from Hairy Man Road near Sam Bass to Red Bud Lane (parallel to Palm Valley Boulevard).

EDITORIAL: Wilco needs to mend its fences
In the movie "A Lion in Winter," English King Henry II - plus his three sons and his wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine - are all struggling with each other for power. During one scene just about all of the characters have got knives pulled on each other - and one of the sons remarks on this. At which point Eleanor - played by Katharine Hepburn - looks at the camera and says: Of course we all have knives drawn. It's the year 1183 and we're barbarians.
